Navy — ASVAB requirements.
The Navy uses a 9-composite system layered over the AFQT. Active-duty enlistment requires an AFQT of 31; many high-tech ratings (Nuclear, AECF, Cryptologic Technician) require substantially higher composite line scores. Coast Guard reservist transfers and Navy Reserve programs may have different floors.
The United States Navy tier-1 minimum AFQT is 31. Line-score composites sit on top of AFQT and decide which jobs stay open: AFQT, GT, EL, BEE, ENG, MEC, CL, HM, NUC.
